Description

This game was made in 3h for the Trijam 294with the theme „Accumulate Power“.

Jump Charge is a short but fun 2d platformer.

Your goal is to reach the end of the jump n‘ run.

But watch out, you only have limited jump power which you can increase by collecting „Jump Charger“

By holding space, you can charge your jump and when you releasing space you jump.

Then longer you charge your jump then higher you will jump.

Development

As this was my third Trijam, I had learned that you shouldn't focus so much on visuals, but rather on gameplay. I tried to do this and I think that I have definitely improved and that the game has become better than my last two games. Overall, development was a lot of fun again.

I find the idea of the game very cool and I am very motivated to keep developing this game so I may upload an update with new levels and maybe a mobile version for the game as well.

Maybe you can make the instructions disappear after the player presses space once. You could do this with a command that checks to see if space is pressed and then using an if statement checks if the instructions are up (use a variable for this).  If instructions are up, it can fade away.

(ps, love the art)
